??National Academy of Education Administration (NAEA) is a unique higher education institution under Chinese Ministry of Education, specialized in educational leadership development?and teaching capacity building in education sector. Known as "the cradle for?educational leaders " in China, NAEA is considered?"the second Alma Mater" by alumni. ?

??NAEA was founded in 1955 by the central government to foster large number of needed professional educational administrators and teachers demanded by the development of the society. After more than 60 years of development, NAEA displays ?distinctive functions: the national institution for educational leadership development; the national body for educational policy consultation; the national platform for research on educational management and leadership development; the national hub for international communication of academic leaders.

??NAEA runs a hybrid model of F2F and on-line programs. The flagship F2F programs are commissioned by the Ministry of Education, which are University Leaders Program, University Middle Managers program, Program for Local Educational Officials and Program for School Principals.?In addition, NAEA also offers topical leadership and management programs for various target groups in education sector. NAEA on-line programs includes E-learning Academy for Educational Administrators, China E-learning Academy for Teachers, E-learning Academy for University Student Counselor etc.

??NAEA has two academic terms. The Spring term runs between March and June, while Autumn term is from September to December. Programs types are evenly offered in two terms with different program contents and participants. ?

??NAEA faculty consists of full-time academics?and part-time guest professors. Full time professors and associate professors are?specialized in educational management, leadership development and policy studies etc. The part-time guest professors are invited from prestigious Chinese and international universities, educational institutions, government bodies and enterprises. NAEA faculty enjoys a reputation for good quality researches with major strengths in educational administration, management and leadership development. Most of the research projects are commissioned by the Ministry of Education and other governmental research funding bodies.

??NAEA has five academic departments, namely Department of Ethics & Ideology, Department of Education Administration, Department of University Management, Department for Teachers Capacity Building and Department for Leadership Development. ?

??NAEA also has seven research centers and publishes two academic journals: NAEA Journal?and Primary and Secondary School Principals, which are well-reputed nation-wide.

??NAEA also holds a role to build dialogue and facilitate communication between Chinese university leaders and their international peers through round-table dialogue, topical international forums, international lectures, workshops and blended international programs etc. The?flagships international forums and programs include, The Chinese-Foreign University President Forum, The Overseas Program?for Chinese University Leaders, The LEAD Program and LEAD2 Program etc.
